Regina B

Regina B., RI

I started smoking at 17 and smoked for the next 18 years. I quit in April 2007, at the request of my 12 year old daughter. That day I discovered that one of my favorite cousins was diagnosed with lung cancer. She never smoked. She died in August 2007, just months after her diagnosis. She was 41 years old. Not only did I vow never to smoke again, I wanted to make sure that I continue to advocate for early detection, treatment, and funding for a cure. It's been 15. years and we've come a long way but there's still so much to do. We will continue for Sybil Foster and every other person affected by lung cancer.
