I’m 56 years old and have been battling asthma for years. I’m getting better because I’m more aware of my triggers, stop smoking, and monitor my exercise regimes and alcohol and food intake. I am a chef and was surprised that some foods are unsuitable for asthmatics. I can’t be near smoke, deep fryers or string odors as they may exacerbate my symptoms. I clean my air filters at home and keep my inhalers on me. I can swim, play tennis and golf, go walking and hiking trails, just need to know my limits. The more I learn, the better I can manage my condition.
