Ellen A., CO

I was shot in my torso and arm some 29 years ago. One of the bullets went through my lung. Ever since then I have had many problems with my lungs as they are very sensitive to bad air quality. I used to get bronchitis all the time.  With the help of medication, Xolair, my lungs are less sensitive.  Now all I have to deal with is asthma and the asthma has also been diagnosed as COPD. Unfortunately I cannot take steroids for my lungs because steroids mess with my moods. I use an inhaler about 5 times a day. I am very mindful of air quality as it has a profound effect on my lungs.
