Carla Sterling is the Executive Director for Metro New York and joined the American Lung Association in 2018. She leads a team of five across the market to increase revenue through special events, corporate and Leadership Board engagement. Carla brings more than three decades of non-profit experience to the Lung Association. Her background includes serving as Director of Development at her Alma Mater, the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Development Senior Director for the United Way of Westchester and Putnam, and Montefiore Health System, and most recently as Executive Director for the American Cancer Society’s New York City market. Over her career, Carla has managed annual and major gifts campaigns, corporate and foundation relations, board development, special events, stewardship, and mission related programs. She earned her BA in Psychology from The State University of New York at Stony Brook.
