Tiffany M., OH

Lung disease completely up ended and radically changed my life and the life of everyone in my family.

In late 2015/early 2016 my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. My dad was my best buddy and definitely my kids (his grandkids) hero and friend. He wasn’t supposed to make it two months to my daughters birth. He did. He made it past her first birthday. He saw her everyday that he wasn’t getting treatment or was too sick for visitors/or driving. We are still trying to recover from our loss. The loss of his laughter, his humor, him.

I wish lung disease did not have so much stigma attached to it. I wish more people knew the warning signs and advocated for themselves for good care. I wish there were more warning signs for lung cancer.

My dad was an incredibly important person to me and my family. He had wonderful friends who also miss him dearly.
