Tell FDA: Protect Kids, Not Flavored Vapes

On May 5, 2026, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized four flavored e-cigarettes for sale, including mango and blueberry-flavored products. This marked the first time FDA had authorized a flavored e-cigarette product, other than menthol or tobacco flavors.

This decision is bad for lung health. In 2024, nearly 1.6 million middle and high school students used e-cigarettes, according to the National Youth Tobacco Survey. The science is clear – kids follow the flavors.  Fruit flavors remain the most popular, with over 62% of kids choosing them, according to the same survey.

FDA should be protecting kids’ and the public’s health – not authorizing more flavored tobacco and nicotine products.

Join the American Lung Association in urging FDA to reverse this decision and to keep flavored tobacco products off the market.
