Our township allows leaf burning throughout the year, causing very unhealthy air especially for those with asthma, COPD or other sensitivities. The state of Michigan allows townships with smaller populations to burn leaves. This is ridiculous since the pollution this causes travels outside of just this small town. Additionally, most people in the area have the leaves removed from their property and these are composted and recycled. It is just the few individuals who selfishly burn the leaves.
