I recently (Dec.) had to call for an ambulance because I woke up and couldn't breathe. They diagnosed me with acute respitory failure!!! Scared me as I live alone. Thought I was doing okay and had another episode in March. It also hospitalized me.
That's when they told me I have not only COPD, which I didn't know I had, also low oxygen, and chronic bronchitis. I am now on oxygen at night every night and all kinds of breathers. I am 73 and now have depression, because I can't go away this summer on any type of overnight vacation. And because this was only discovered once it got so bad!!! I had no idea. I am a widow, live alone, have no family and feel like a tied up dog!!!!!! Anyone else had to quit smoking, because of COPD and now suffer depression?
