Helping Smokers Quit
Tobacco Cessation Coverage
The American Lung Association's "Helping Smokers Quit 2014" highlights why it is so important that smokers have help to end their nicotine addiction. Many of the major provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) went into effect on January 1, 2014, including new health insurance options for Americans who were previously uninsured. As policymakers, insurance plans and employers continue to implement this hallmark law, it is crucial they take every opportunity to give smokers easy access to the treatments that will help them quit.
