Bill White

I was diagnosed with COPD in December of 2012. In May of 2014, I had respiratory failure and was critically ill for two weeks. Since my hospitalization, I have retired and become a co-facilitator for the Better Breathers Club in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. I am currently in the pre transplant phase at Duke Medical University.

Being on the patient panel is a great honor. I truly feel if I (we) can help one person struggling with lung disease, it is all worth it! We in this generation will hopefully sign up for studies and such to help future generations and put a halt to lung disease. I never realized until my involvement with the American Lung Association that there are so many people afflicted with this terrible disease.
