Sign Our Petition to Help Protect Air Quality
"State of the Air" 2019 finds that climate change is fueling wildfires and weather patterns that are making air quality worse.
We need your help. Please add your name to our urgent petition to members of Congress and the Administration. Urge them to act now to clean up power plants, oil and gas operations, and other sources of pollution to address climate change and reduce other dangerous emissions at the same time.
On behalf of our families and communities, we urge you to take immediate action to protect our health from air pollution and climate change. According to the American Lung Association's "State of the Air" report, nearly 141.1 million people live in counties that receive failing grades for air quality.
Climate change is a public health emergency. Two of the ways it puts health and lives at risk are by fueling dangerous wildfire smoke and harmful ozone pollution, as the "State of the Air" shows. The United States has come a long way in cleaning up harmful air pollution thanks to the Clean Air Act, but the job isn't finished yet. And climate change is beginning to reverse our progress.
We call on you to support policies that clean up power plants, oil and gas operations, transportation sources, and other sources of pollution. By cleaning up these sources, we can cut climate change pollution and reduce other dangerous pollution at the same time.
