UnitedHealthcare Reinvests in Lung Health

Continues financial support to Lung Association’s efforts in Chicago

The American Lung Association in Greater Chicago announced that UnitedHealthcare signed on as the presenting sponsor, for the 8th year, of the 2022 Fight For Air Climb at Soldier Field, home of Chicago Bears, on June 19th.

“Preventing lung disease continues to be at the forefront of our nation’s public health efforts, and we remain dedicated in doing our part to help those who are suffering from this terrible disease in our community,” said Kristen Young, executive director of the Lung Association. “Events like the Fight For Air Climb raise funds so that the Lung Association can provide education, research and advocacy to improve the lung health of people living in the Chicagoland area. Without the continued support that we receive from local presenting sponsors like UnitedHealthcare, all the work that we do would not be possible.”

The Chicago Fight For Air Climb attracts hundreds of climbers from across Illinois who raise awareness and funding to help end lung disease through lifesaving research, local programs and advocacy. Featuring one-of-a-kind views of the city skyline and the best set of stairs this side of the Mississippi, Soldier Field is the perfect setting for a day of fun, challenge, and camaraderie. Participants will have the opportunity to climb the steps of Soldier Field up to three times.

“At UnitedHealthcare, we know the importance of lung health, and are honored to partner again with the Lung Association in Greater Chicago,” said Tom Kunst, CEO at UnitedHealthcare of Illinois. “We look forward to helping to raise awareness for the 2022 Fight for Air Climb and the Lung Association’s efforts to improve lung health and prevent lung disease.”

The Lung Association is committed to the health and safety of its participants and volunteers. The organization will continue to closely monitor public health conditions and CDC guidelines for COVID-19. Everyone is encouraged to check the Climb website for the most updated information leading up to the event.
