Climbers from St. Louis and Springfield, IL Raise Over $310K at Busch Stadium for Lung Health

Participated in Lung Association’s Fight For Air Climb event

On Saturday, June 4, 2022, nearly 850 people from St. Louis and Springfield, IL joined forces to raise over $310,000 for the American Lung Association's Fight For Air Climb at Busch Stadium. The event raised funds to support lifesaving research, local programs and advocacy for those suffering from lung disease in Missouri and Illinois.

“Hundreds of climbers did more than just trot up a set of stairs. These amazing individuals spared their time, effort and sweat to advance the cause of greater lung health in St. Louis, Illinois and beyond,” said Brett Schuette, executive director at the Lung Association. “We thank everyone for coming out to support this wonderful community event.”

The Fight For Air Climb offered options for every type of climber, including special categories for EMTs, first responders and firefighters. Participants climbed around the 100 level, or they climbed around the 100, 200, and 300 levels of Busch Stadium, totaling thousands of steps. Other lung health champions took advantage of a “Climb Your Way” virtual option from home.
