The American Lung Association today named Victoria Byrd Director of Development and market lead for New Mexico. This crucial leadership role engages directly with the community to guide lung-friendly policies and raise funds to further its mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.
“We are thrilled to welcome Victoria to this important new position serving the people of New Mexico,” said Tammy Rocker, American Lung Association Executive Vice President. “Victoria’s passion for the cause combined with her already proven success will help us strengthen our bonds in the community and provide a strong voice for lung health in New Mexico.”
Victoria ascended to her new role after a successful tenure managing development activities for the Lung Association’s efforts in New Mexico. Prior to her work with the American Lung Association, Victoria held several leadership positions focused on community engagement and philanthropy. Victoria graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Journalism with a concentration in multimedia from the University of New Mexico.
“I look forward to the new challenges and opportunities inherent in leading the Lung Association’s life-saving work in New Mexico,” said Byrd. “In my new role, I hope to positively impact communities throughout the state via meaningful fundraising activities, awareness campaigns, community-focused events, and much more.”
As Development Director and Market Lead for the American Lung Association in New Mexico, Victoria also will work closely with the Lung Association’s Albuquerque Board of Directors to increase awareness of the life-saving work of the organization throughout New Mexico. Victoria’s vision for revenue growth is broad and includes proven creativity and understanding of constituents’ needs. She is focused on broadening the appeal of our noted public events to provide both fun and safe engagement for the entire community, as well as to offer education and convenient ways to take an active role in fulfilling our mission to end lung disease.
