Two Local Experts to Speak at National Expo to Educate Healthcare Professionals About Lung Cancer, COVID-19

Today, the American Lung Association in Buffalo, NY announced that Dr. Mary Reid from Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and Melinda Walter from Independent Health will speak at the virtual LUNG FORCE Expo on December 8.

This LUNG FORCE Expo is designed to educate health professionals about the latest trends, resources and research surrounding lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases. Reid will present on The Cutting Edge: Clinical Trials for Lung Cancer, and Walter will present on the Value-Based Payment Design: Managing Lung Disease and Keeping Your Patient out of the Hospital.

“It is more important than ever before to focus on and support lung health. More than 37 million Americans live with chronic lung disease and COVID-19 is affecting millions, so it is critical that healthcare providers are educated on the newest trends, research and treatments that have the potential to benefit their patients,” said Kaelyn Gates, Development Director at the Lung Association. “We are honored to have two extremely passionate and knowledgeable partner representatives, Dr. Reid and Melinda Walter featured at this important event to help healthcare professionals better treat their patients living with lung disease, including lung cancer and COVID-19.”
