Florida Power & Light Company Sponsors South Florida Fight For Air Climb

On March 5 the American Lung Association will host its iconic Fight For Air Climb event outdoors at loanDepot park - Home of the Miami Marlins, during which Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) will illuminate the jumbotron as the Official Jumbotron Sponsor.

“The American Lung Association appreciates FPL’s support for our lifesaving mission through our Fight For Air Climb,” shares Peter Berger with Broward County Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue and the Corporate Chair for the Fight for Air Climb. “Clean air is vital for lung health. Money raised through the Fight for Air Climb will fund the American Lung Association’s efforts to end lung disease and support the organization’s COVID-19 Action Initiative. The COVID-19 Action Initiative is a $25 million investment to address COVID-19 and protect against future respiratory virus pandemics,” continued Peter.

“We are thrilled to support the American Lung Association in its mission to end lung disease and promote clean air,” said Irene White, senior director of external affairs for Florida Power & Light Company.  “We share a commitment to cleaner air for our communities, and our investments in emissions-free solar energy continue to improve air quality and reduce our use of fuel while keeping costs low for our customers.”

As part of FPL’s “Light the Fight to Clean Energy” sponsorship for the Fight For Air Climb, customers are invited to complete FPL’s Energy Survey and activate the Energy Simulator by visiting FPL.com/takecontrol. The tool allows customers to monitor, analyze and even simulate energy use to find savings. By completing the energy survey participants will also be entered for a chance to win a solar backpack stocked with FPL and Lung Association swag. Once activated and completed, email [email protected] with the subject “I activated my FPL analyzer!”  for a chance to win.

Registration for the Fight For Air Climb is $35 and includes a $100 fundraising minimum. For more information, and to register, visit FightForAirClimb.org/Miami
