FORT LAUDERDALE, FL | June 6, 2021
On Friday, June 4, more than 200 people gathered virtually for the American Lung Association in South Florida’s Memorial Cancer Institute LUNG FORCE Sunset Soiree presented by the Erwin and Barbara Mautner Charitable Foundation. The event raised $192,600 for lung cancer research and efforts to end lung cancer and all lung diseases, including COVID-19.
“After hosting our 2020 Sunset Soiree as a wildly successful dynamic virtual experience, we chose to again host our Sunset Soiree virtually this year. We offered VIP Host and VIP Household packages that allowed the community to support our efforts to end lung cancer at home with their close friends and family,” said Lori Adelson, Sunset Soiree Co-Chair and owner of HR Law Pro.
“Thank you to all of our hosts, sponsors and attendees who came together to make a difference in the lives of people facing lung disease, lung cancer and COVID-19,” added Co-Chair Jill Ginsberg, of Ginsberg Shulman, PL Attorneys at Law.
The Sunset Soiree is the premier luxury lifestyle event of the season designed to raise awareness, education, and critical funding to end lung cancer. The Sunset Soiree was MC’ed by Kenny Walker of 102.7 the Beach, included special guest performances by DJ Irie; curated charcuterie boards by the Grazing Girls Fort Lauderdale; a mixology kit and live cocktail demonstration featuring Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits Brands Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Fever Tree; an online silent auction sponsored by Ginsberg Shulman, PL Attorneys at Law; a "Virtual Light the Way Luminary Procession" Powered by FPL; a virtual Shop For A Cause "Luxury Lifestyle Lounge;” a Digital Selfie Booth by UKG; a Chance Drawing sponsored by Hecker Dermatology Group; special recognition of our LUNG FORCE Distinguished Physician Award Recipient Dr. Brian Hunis from Memorial Cancer Institute; and much more.
Money raised at the Sunset Soiree fund the Lung Association’s efforts to end lung disease and lung cancer through education, advocacy and research. It also supports the Lung Association’s COVID-19 Action Initiative, a $25 million investment to address COVID-19 and protect against future respiratory virus pandemics.
