What is most important in raising awareness of lung cancer tumor testing?
I think the first and foremost is education. This technology and utilization of genomic sequencing is fairly new. It's been available commercially less than a decade. So many of the oncologists who have been 20-30 years in their profession are just learning about this in the last few years. So continuing to educate the oncologists, the pathologists, and certainly the patients and the caregivers about the opportunities and when genomic profiling is appropriate is really moving the field forward and getting the patients to testing when the testing is appropriate for their care.
