What can hospitals do to make sure all eligible patients get their tumors tested for biomarkers?
Approaching lung cancer from a multidisciplinary team approach is how we make sure that you have pathways in place so that patients don’t get missed. That there's communication between the surgeon, the oncologist, the pathologist: to obtain enough tissue, to make sure that tissue is appropriately handled, and then to communicate those results in a timely manner so the oncologist has that info when they see the patient and there aren't delays. It's also important that we educate each other.
