During the summer of 2004, I was coughing up blood. My primary doctor sent me to see a lung specialist, who performed tests on me. He diagnosed me as having lung cancer. I have never smoked in my life, but I was exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam. During October, I was admitted to Rex Hospital in Raleigh, where a surgeon removed the upper half of my left lung.
