From Your Local Lung Association
In addition to our LUNG FORCE Walks, the American Lung Association is excited to present many special fundraising events that attract thousands of people to raise funds and awareness for lung disease research and programs.
Our signature Fight For Air Climb events held in Cleveland, OH; Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Detroit, MI; Louisville KY; and Nashville, TN take participants up the stairwells of some of the highest buildings in our region. Participants climb in honor or memory of a loved one touched by lung disease. In fiscal year 16 more than 3,000 participants on 500 teams took the stairs to raise more than $800,000 to support lung disease research and programs.
Our Bike Trek to Shakertown, Kentucky's premier bicycle touring event turned 30 this year! This event takes cyclists through beautiful Shaker Village all while raising important funds to fight lung disease. The Bike Trek has raised $3,000,000 since its inception in 1986!
The American Lung Association of the Midland States also hosts a variety of other special events including galas, luncheons and golf outings that provide a venue for honoring those who support our mission.
The 31st annual Women of Distinction Luncheon held in Chattanooga, TN brought together the area's outstanding women, while benefitting the American Lung Association. Chattanooga is also host to the LUNG FORCE Gala, a passionate and intimate community gathering celebrating the collective power of our breath and voice to stand up against lung cancer and for lung health.
The Big Screen Bash and the Derby Eve Gala in Kentucky brought lung health supporters together while sharing good food and entertainment; all in support of lung health.
Area golfers hit the links for the Cleveland Golf tournament in Ohio raising more than $176,000 to support our mission.
We thank all of our participants, donors, sponsors, and organizers that help make all of these fundraising events possible!
