In March, 2017, Illinois celebrated the 10-Year Anniversary of the first vote that led to passage of the Smoke Free Illinois Act, a comprehensive anti-smoking law that prohibits smoking in most buildings and vehicles used by the general public. The American Lung Association in Illinois celebrated the anniversary with Illinois state legislators, sponsors of the bill, State Senators Terry Link and John G. Mulroe, as well as other partner health organizations at the State Capitol to recognize this historic day.
