From Your Local Lung Association

Dear American Lung Association Friends and Family,

Each year we are one step closer to a world free of lung disease, where everyone can breathe easy and fully. This past year our Southwest Charter has continued to move the American Lung Association’s mission forward.

Whether it be through the awareness of lung disease featured at Fight For Air Climbs and LUNG FORCE Walks, building communities with the Better Breathers Clubs or putting our LUNG FORCE Heroes in front of their Congressional representatives to share their stories and to lobby for more federal funding for lung cancer research, our team has worked diligently to support those with lung disease and their families. We could not have done any of this without the hard work and passion from our partners, donors, board members, volunteers, staff and faithful supporters.

We have made strategic moves in the past year to align our initiatives and efforts so that we are all marching together toward the same goal. This means taking advantage of new National Shared Services to enhance our work and allow for more boots on the ground. The Southwest now works directly with National Office staff for event planning, finance, website maintenance and marketing and communications tactics. We are now a more unified charter and have better capacity to do what we do best – provide lung health programs and services for the 4,302,000 people with chronic lung disease..

This year’s annual report highlights some of the Southwest’s accomplishments, along with our partners and heroes who have helped us make it possible. We hope these stories remind you of the good that we’ve done, but also of the good that we can and will do going forward. We have further to go in accomplishing our vision, but we have the people and dedication to make it happen. Thank you for your contributions to the Southwest Charter and let’s continue to work together in freeing our world of lung disease.
