Nationally recognized experts Mark Millard, MD, the Baylor University Medical Center Director of Martha Foster Lung Care Center, and Kartik Konduri, MD, from Texas Oncology, will speak on November 9 at the LUNG FORCE Expo in Irving, the American Lung Association in Texas announced today.

The LUNG FORCE Expo brings together local healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers to learn about the latest trends, resources and research on lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)/Alpha-1, asthma, and other lung diseases.

“For the Expo, hundreds of experts like Dr. Millard and Dr. Konduri come together to share cutting-edge information in their fields with other professionals and those who suffer from lung disease,” said Carol Martin, director of health for the Lung Association. “This information is more important than ever, because there are more than three million people in Texas who suffer from chronic lung disease. This event works to educate health professionals and help people live better with lung disease.”

In addition to his work leading the team at the Martha Foster Lung Care Center, Dr. Millard developed the ‘Rules of Two’ to help clinicians and their patients understand the practical implications of effective asthma control. ‘Rules of Two’ has become a national standard for assessing the effectiveness of prescribed asthma medication. At the LUNG FORCE Expo, he will present on “Up to Date Trends and Living with Lung Disease.” Dr. Konduri specializes in medical oncology and is the Principal Investigator for Lung Cancer Trials at Baylor Sammons Cancer Center. On November 9, he will speak about “Immunotherapy in Lung Cancer.”

Other topics at the LUNG FORCE Expo include motivational interviewing, bronchiectasis, living with lung disease, pulmonary rehab, smoking cessation and more. The full agenda is available here.

Healthcare professionals, as well as patients living with lung disease or lung cancer, and caregivers are invited to attend the event on November 9. Registration is now open. To learn more and to register, visit the LUNG FORCE Expo website or call 214-631-5864.
