Today, the American Lung Association in Greater Chicago announced that lung health experts will gather in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. on April 24 for the LUNG FORCE Expo.
“In Illinois, more than 1 million people suffer from a form of lung disease,” said Kristen Young, Executive Director for the Lung Association. “That’s why this event is more important than ever to communicate new treatments, help people live better with lung disease and share the newest research.”
The LUNG FORCE Expo, taking place at Drury Lane Theatre & Conference Center, is a program designed for healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers to learn more about the latest trends, resources and research surrounding lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and other lung diseases.
For Neeraj Desai, MD MBA FCCP FACP, who is a partner at Suburban Lung Associates and Director at Chicago Chest Center, the LUNG FORCE Expo is a chance to learn about the latest advances in lung disease treatment, as well as network with other patients and doctors.
“It’s a good chance to meet new people and professionals, to see who the ‘up and coming stars’ are in Chicago and the Midwest, to see patients in a setting other than a hospital, to learn about new treatments and techniques, or to have that ‘light bulb moment’ about something you knew, but never really appreciated until now,” said Desai.
For healthcare professionals, this conference provides vital information for them to care for patients with lung disease and lung cancer.
“I attend the Lung Force Expo because I believe knowledge is power,” said Gail Harris, RRT, CPFT at John Stroger, Jr. Hospital/Cook County Health and Hospital, “I’m impressed by how the LUNG FORCE Expo meets the needs of both patients and health care professionals. Patients become educated on their diseases and resources available. Health care professionals learn about the latest in lung cancer and lung disease, which ultimately leads to better patient care and outcomes.”
Healthcare professionals as well as patients living with lung disease or lung cancer are invited to attend the event on April 24. Registration is now open. To learn more and to register visit the LUNG FORCE Expo website or call 312-781-1100.
