The American Lung Association is proud to announce Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York as the presenting sponsor for the upcoming LUNG FORCE Walk and LUNG FORCE Expo in Buffalo. While the national LUNG FORCE movement – which raises awareness for lung cancer - has gained steam throughout the Northeast, this will be the inaugural year for western New York communities. The LUNG FORCE Expo will be on March 15, 2018 at the Millennium Hotel in Buffalo and the LUNG FORCE Walk will take place on June 7, 2018 at Buffalo Harbor State Park. Registration is currently open for both events.
“Blue Cross Blue Shield is a valued partner of the American Lung Association, and we are excited to work with them as we roll out LUNG FORCE in the western New York community,” said Jeff Seyler, Executive Vice President of the American Lung Association, Northeast Region. “As our presenting sponsor, Blue Cross Blue Shield will lend their expertise in healthcare to the vital cause of spreading awareness for lung cancer – and their partnership will help us to reach more families with life saving information.”
Both events will include a speaking programs honoring local LUNG FORCE Heroes, survivors, advocates and health professionals and families. The Expo will feature speakers from a variety of fields to present current medical information on topics that have the most impact on those whose lives are touched by lung cancer and lung disease.
The American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE movement is recognized nationwide and includes 43 walks in 28 states last year alone.
