Hundreds of Coloradans to gather on June 11th to Raise Awareness for the Number One Cancer Killer in US

(June 1, 2016) -

DENVER (June 1, 2016) – It’s a fact, more people die of lung cancer than from breast, prostate, colon and pancreatic cancers combined. That’s why the American Lung Association in Colorado is proud to gather community members together for the 2016 LUNG FORCE Walk on Saturday, June 11th.

Hundreds of Coloradans with lung disease, their families, friends and healthcare professionals will gather at Centennial Center Park to help raise awareness about the impact of lung disease in our community. Lung cancer is the number one cancer killer of all Americans, asthma is the leading cause of chronic absenteeism for school aged children and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is the leading cause of disability in working adults and the third leading cause of death among Americans.

The event is a family fun event featuring a half-mile walk, fun athletic elements and educational tents. The festivities begin at 8 am on Saturday, June 11th at Centennial Center Park.

WHO: All ages are welcome to participate in this FREE family friendly event.
