Improve the Air Quality at Your School!

The Clean Air for Schools program with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s (CDPHE) provides free HEPA portable air cleaners (HEPA PACs) to Colorado schools. Air cleaners can increase air circulation and filtration in classrooms, reducing airborne pathogens and indoor air pollutants. Evidence shows that clean air in classrooms can improve the health of school communities. Clean Air for Schools is funded by CDPHE in cooperation with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

These portable air cleaners are available at no charge to public, private, charter, and Tribal schools throughout Colorado! The program is time sensitive.

Complete the interest form and a member of the Carrier West team will contact you with more information about applying. School administrators may also fill out our application form directly.

CDPHE Clean Air for Schools provides portable air cleaners (PACs) and necessary associated supplies to schools in Colorado, to improve indoor air quality and air circulation as a mitigation measure for COVID-19. PACs are a tool that can increase air circulation/ventilation in indoor spaces and reduce indoor air pollutants to improve air quality in buildings, which subsequently can reduce respiratory disease risk and improve health for occupants (e.g., students and teachers). The goal of the program is to provide PACs to up to 50-70% of the K-12 schools across Colorado (approximately 1,000 to 1,400 schools) by the end of the project period (June 30, 2023). The federal funds for this program also allow for inclusion of early childhood education (ECE) as secondary to the K-12 need. If demand from K-12 schools is lower than our budget can support, then we will open the program to ECE providers. This program is funded through the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, via a cooperative agreement program between the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) titled “Reopening Schools: Support for Screening Testing to Reopen & Keep Schools Operating Safely.”
