I'm an idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis patient. Pollution of outdoor as well as indoor air is the principal cause of the inflammatory process in my lungs, which leads to scarring and decreased lung function. Knowing how each pollutant affects the course of the disease and the amount of each present in the local atmosphere might help caregivers and health authorities in planning the measures to be taken in order to better protect the population.
