Michelle R. Sampson, MSW is the Development Manager for the American Lung Association in Texas. She joined the Houston team in 2016 and is currently responsible for leading the implementation of all aspects of the Fight for Air Climb signature fundraiser and related special events.  Michelle brings 25+ years of experience in both the public and private sectors to her current role.  Some career highlights include serving as Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, Director of Operations for University of Phoenix Dallas, Training and Development Specialist for the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, and Fundraising Coordinator at the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  Notably, Michelle’s work in diversity programming at the University of Michigan Office of Minority Affairs, and the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work uniquely position her to serve on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council.  Michelle earned her BA in Sociology from the University of Houston, and her MSW from the University of Michigan.  She loves to cook, lives for music, and is proud to be her mother’s primary caretaker.
