Division Specialist, Constituent Services – Eastern Division (E.D #1920-94)
The American Lung Association has a great opportunity for a Division Specialist, Constituent Services - Eastern Division to join our incredible team in the National Office. Working as a member of the Constituent Services Team, you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease, through research, education and advocacy.
In this role, you will be responsible for the management and oversight of constituent data and associated processes required to deliver a ‘constituent first’ approach across the association.
- Fulfill centralized constituent service functions as directed by the regional constituent services director.
- Serve as a point-of-contact for questions which may arise from local staff related to constituent service functions.
- Work collaboratively with the constituent services team to create, refine and improve upon business-rules and processes for constituent service-related functions.
- Ensure that key constituent segments and interests are correctly reflected in the donor database.
- Ensure that association donors are being acknowledged in a manner which aligns with established business practices.
- Reconcile ROI batches against bank deposits prior to batch locking (committing to database)
- Create source codes which adhere to business rules and practices of both the CRM and finance departments. Source codes should align with the GL structure and segmentation needs of various departments.
- Provide remediation/support for ROI batches containing discrepancies related to business rules and/or banking deposits
- Provide the finance department necessary data and/or reports to ensure that committed financial entries in ROI reconcile with the general ledger.
- Follow-up with constituents in instances of credit card chargebacks with a goal of minimizing mitigating successful chargebacks though customer service.
- Provide guidance and oversight to local and regional staff to ensure that duplicate individual and corporate records are correctly merged and/or associated.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of five years of related professional experience required, preferably in a not-for-profit and/or fundraising environment.
- Minimum of three years of related professional experience required, preferably in a not-for-profit and/or fundraising environment.
- Understanding of non-profit financial operations and customer/donor support.
- A high attention to detail, strong organizational and project management skills, and fluency in thinking through detailed process frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, plan, and carry out activities independently to meet specific, competing timelines and goals under pressure; ability to multi-task , trouble shoot, and set work assignment priorities.
- Ability to think analytically, establish and maintain systems and processes, and compile data and reports.
- Strong contributor within a team environment with a positive and productive attitude.
- A passion for the ALA’s mission of improving lung health.
- Experience and proficiency with data management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
