Tell EPA: Protect Science to Protect Health

Our health is under attack and we need your help to protect it

Science is under attack—and so are pollution limits that protect our health. EPA is knowingly trying to limit the science the agency can use in order to protect industry profits, at the expense of Americans' health.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is trying to censor the scientific information the agency uses in its decisions—particularly to exclude studies that show that pollution harms health. Under the misleading veil of "transparency," this proposal would allow EPA to throw out important studies that rely on confidential patient information. The result: EPA would block its own scientists from using the best available health research to set limits on pollution, inevitably leading to limits that fail to protect health.

Bottom Line: EPA's proposed rule to censor science would blind the agency to the true health costs of pollution, leading to policies that fail to protect the public.

The good news: You can help!

The American Lung Association has created a petition to oppose the "Censoring Science" proposal. The petition will be submitted to EPA's public comment docket, and our deadline to sign is August 15. That means there are only a few days left to sign this petition and tell EPA to protect science.
