For more than a year now, the Lung Association has been fighting against attempts in Congress to weaken clean air protections, and today’s events come in the midst of heightened attention to this issue. -

Medical & Health Groups File Suit to Protect Limits on Mercury, Air Toxic Pollution
March 16, 2012 - Today five professional medical societies and public health groups took legal action to support public health safeguards that reduce mercury and toxic air pollution from power plants. These groups filed a motion to intervene in support of the EPA’s Mercury and Air Toxics Standards, which set long-overdue limits on the emissions of hazardous air pollutants from coal- and oil-fired power plants. -
