November 30, 2009 - Alan P. Fields, Ph.D., a recent recipient of the American Lung Association/LUNGevity Foundation Lung Cancer Discovery Award, and his team at the Mayo Clinic Florida have found a major oncogene responsible for lung cancer development in mice and that a drug once used to treat rheumatoid arthritis shows promise in inhibiting the gene in some types of lung cancer. -

A new study conducted by the American Lung Association’s Asthma Clinical Research Centers (ACRC) has identified a simple, five-item questionnaire, based on the frequency of nasal symptoms, to accurately screen for this disease. -

Adrienne Glasgow Joins American Lung Association as Chief Financial Officer
October 27, 2009 - The American Lung Association today announced that Adrienne B. Glasgow will become the new Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Ms. Glasgow will oversee the daily operations of Finance and Human Resources for the organization’s National Headquarters and will provide expertise and assistance to nationwide Lung Association staff. Glasgow will officially join the Lung Association on November 9, and will work out of the New York Headquarters Office.
