Train for the 2011 Houston Fight for Air Climb
Train with the Tellepsen Family Downtown YMCA for the Fight for Air Climb, which will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at First City Tower.
The 2011 Houston Fight for Air Climb is a unique event in which individuals and teams race, run or walk the 48 flights of First City Tower. This one-of-a-kind event is a big goal, but you can do it! Join the YMCA’s 12-week training program and not only will you be ready to take on the stairs, you will be on your way to a healthier you.
Step One:
Sign up for the 2011 Houston Fight for Air Climb. Climb on your own or create a team! (3 people minimum to create a team).
Step Two:
Sign up at the Tellepsen Family Downtown YMCA’s Welcome Center or online at www.ymcahouston.org for the Tellepsen Family Downtown YMCA’s Fight for Air Climb Training Program. Program is led by two nationally-certified Personal Trainers. Participants must be 12 years of age.
Program includes:
• Participant manual with information on stretching, hydration, proper attire/footwear
• Weekly class to include an educational segment, warm-up, core and strength exercises
• A run and/or stair climb, and stretching
• Two full practice climbs at First City Tower
• Suggested classes and activities to participate in between training classes.
When:
The Fight for Air Climb Training Class begins on Saturday, February 26th, and runs for 12 consecutive Saturdays. Class time is 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Class meets in Group Exercise Room 1 on the 3rd Floor
Cost: $150
In order to participate in the Training Program, you must be a YMCA Facility Member. The $100 joining fee will be waived for anyone joining the YMCA to participate in the training program. Any member can participate in the training program, regardless of participation in the Fight for Air Climb. Fee will be prorated for those who sign up after the program begins.
