Each year, too many lives are lost to lung disease and this is your chance to climb, raise money and make an impact in their honor. By joining the Fight for Air Climb, you are making the commitment to fight lung disease so everyone can breathe easier- including you!
Fight for Air Climbs are unique fundraising events for the American Lung Association. They usually happen in prominent skyscrapers, stadiums or arenas and involve climbing multiple steps and flights of stairs. Sometimes called a "vertical road race", teams and individual participants can use the event as a fitness target, as a race, with you challenging yourself or you racing against other people, or as a great way to be active and meet new friends. Stairclimbs are great cross training events for athletes who can not train outdoors in the winter. Novice and expert athletes of all ages are welcome to climb. We know a lot about lung disease, but there is so much we don't know. Your participation will raise the funds necessary to provide life saving education, research and advocacy so we can beat lung disease and soon find a cure.

- Joining an existing Team as a new climber
- Signing up as an individual climber

The 2013 Fight For Air Climb Nashville will be held on Saturday, March 9th at the William R. Snodgrass Tennessee Tower. Climbs are 27 floors for a total of 638 stairs and will be timed.
Each participant is responsible for their registration fee and a $100 fundraising minimum. Registration fees are non-refundable. There are no exceptions. Registrations are non-transferable to another person or event. That means that once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate, whatever the reason. You may register at any time by Wednesday, March, 6th, 2013 at noon by following the on-line navigation links in the left margin. You can also download an on-line registration form HERE. After online registration closes you can still register as a walk-on on Climb Day. Walk-on registration runs from 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM the day of the climb at the 7th Avenue entrance of the Tower. First Responder walk-on registration will run from 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM.

Standard Climbs are a timed race against other climbers to take on the Snodgrass Tennessee Tower. Climb all the way to the 28th floor by climbing 638 stairs. All climbers must raise a minimum of $100 to participate in addition to their registration fee. This Climb is recommended for racers, serious climbers, runners, walker and families.
FIRST RESPONDERS CHALLENGE
Timed challenge to the 28th floor for Firefighter, Police, EMS, EMT or Armed Forces officers wanting to compete. Climb in full uniform and/or gear, or in bunk/department/branch shirts to designate what type of first responder you are.
No firearms will be allowed into the building by any participant.
All Firefighters are encouraged to take on the climb to the 28th floor wearing full structural firefighting personal protective equipment which meets current NFPA standards. This includes: Boots, turnout coat and pants, helmet, gloves, and SCBA harness with air cylinder (sorry, no axes allowed). SCBA face pieces and hoods do not need to be worn. Firefighters will not be on air.
When registering please make sure you select your team division type as well as entering your company name.
All participants receive an official Fight For Air Climb medal when they reach the walking track on the 28th Floor and an official participant t-shirt (with the minimum $100 fundraising requirement). After the climb, you can take your medal and brag to your friends. You made it!
Each participant’s $100 fundraising minimum must be met by the morning of the climb in order to participate. All participants who individually raise at least $100 will receive an official event t-shirt and receive their climber medal when they complete their climb.
The average climber raises more than $200 for the cause. Participants are required to raise a minimum of $100 in order to participate. It is easier than you think! Ask 10 friends for $10.
