The FIRST TIME

4 Ways to Participate

Start a Team
Choose this if you would like to start your own team for your friends, family, or company. You will have the opportunity to set up your team, create a team page, and also have a personal fundraising page.
Join a Team
Choose this if you want to join a team that has already been set up by your team captain. You will be able to see how your fundraising supports your team and you will also be able to have a personal fundraising page.
Join as an Individual
Choose this if you are not starting or joining a team and would prefer to participate as an individual. You will be able to set up a personal fundraising page to share with your friends to support your fundraising efforts.
Volunteer
If you prefer not to participate but would rather volunteer for the event, click here. You will still be able to join a team and set up a personal fundraising page if you wish to raise money for the event.

3 Ways to Donate

Sponsor a Walker
Choose this if you would like to donate to a specific individual. Your donation will increase the fundraising total for the specific individual. If that individual is on a team, it will also increase the team's fundraising total. You will be able to search for a specific participant to which to donate.
Donate to a Team
Choose this if you would like donate to a team and not a specific participant. Your donation will increase the team fundraising total but not a specific individual on the team. You will be able to search for a specific team to which to donate.
Donate to the Event
Choose this if you would like to donate to the overall event and not to a team or individual. Your donation will increase the fundraising total on the event thermometer but will not support a specific team or individual participant. You will not be able to search for a specific team or individual participant to which to donate.

Find out more about the York Fight for Air WALK. Attend the Kick-off Open House for folks interested in forming a team on Wednesday, August 31st, 4:30 – 6:30 pm at Apple Hill Medical Center in York. The event is a fun and informative opportunity designed for potential Team Captains from companies, organizations, schools and families to learn more about the 2011 Fight for Air WALK taking place at John Rudy County Park in York on Saturday, October 15that 10 am. The Kick-Off will feature various demonstrations, exhibits, lung health give-aways and information on how you can form a team. In addition, light refreshments will be available.

The York Fight for Air WALK is designed to heighten awareness of the seriousness of lung disease. By raising money and participating in the Fight for Air WALK, each person is helping the more than 50,000 York Countians with at least one chronic lung disease (asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema). All proceeds from the walk will continue to support the American Lung Association in Pennsylvania to promote lung health and prevent lung disease through education, support, research, and advocacy programs.
