Each year, too many lives are lost to lung disease. This is your chance to climb, raise money and make an impact in their honor. By joining the Fight for Air Climb, you are making the commitment to fight lung disease so everyone can breathe easier- including you!
Fight for Air Climbs are unique fundraising events for the American Lung Association. They take place in prominent skyscrapers, stadiums or arenas and involve climbing multiple steps and flights of stairs. Sometimes called a "vertical marathon," teams and individual participants can use the event as a fitness target, as a race, as a challenging or racing against other people or as a great way to be active and meet new friends. Stairclimbs are great cross training events for athletes who can not train outdoors in the winter. Novice and expert athletes of all ages are welcome to climb. We know a lot about lung disease, but there is so much we don't know. Your participation will raise the funds necessary to provide life saving education, research and advocacy so we can beat lung disease and find a cure.

The 2012 Fight For Air Climb Cleveland will be held on Saturday, March 3rd at the Terminal Tower located at 50 Public Square, Cleveland, OH 44113 (downtown Cleveland). The Climb is 42 flights and a total of 804 steps.
You may register at any time through February 28th at midnight by clicking on the choices on the left side of the website page. After online registration closes, you can still register via phone by calling (216) 532-8203 or as a walk in on Climb Day. You will receive your assigned start time via e-mail. Registration opens at 8 a.m. on Climb Day. Walk in registration is 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. only; day of event registrants receive times from the race director on site.

Registration fees for the Fight For Air Climb depends on when you register. Please check the table below for the current registration fee. Registrations are not transferable to another person or event. Participants are encouraged to register early for reduced registration fees.

A timed race against other climbers to reach the Terminal Tower Observation Deck on the 42nd Floor—804 steps complete this vertical challenge. All climbers must raise a minimum of $100 to participate in addition to their registration fee.
Climb At Your Own Pace
Register for a personal challenge, and climb the stairs in your own time to see how you do. You can make it and feel good; this is a great choice for first time climbers. There is opportunity to step off on designated floors for water and to catch your breath. All climbers must raise a minimum of $100 to participate in addition to their registration fee.
All Firefighter Challenge participants are timed during their vertical climb to reach the Terminal Tower Observation Deck, wearing full structural firefighting personal protective equipment which meets current NFPA standards. This includes: boots, turnout coat and pants, helmet, gloves, and SCBA harness with air cylinder. SCBA face pieces and hoods do not need to be worn. Firefighters will not be on air. If you are a firefighter not wishing to partake in this competition, you can register for the Competitive Climb and are encouraged to wear your Bunk Shirts. All climbers must raise a minimum of $100 to participate in addition to their registration fee.
Please note: We welcome any First Responders (Police, EMS, EMT or Armed Forces officers) who want to participate in the Competitive Climb division. All climbers must raise a minimum of $100 to participate in addition to their registration fee.
Each participant’s $100 fundraising minimum must be met by the morning of the climb in order to participate. All participants who raise at least $100 will receive an official event t-shirt at Registration and receive their climber medal when they complete their climb.
The average climber raises more than $200 for the cause. Participants are required to raise a minimum of $100 in order to participate. It is easier than you think! Ask 10 friends for $10. A Team Captain Handbook and Climber Resources page are available to help you reach your fundraising minimum.
