Fitness Challenge
Stair climbing is a great sport that improves the fitness level of each participant and burns more calories than walking or running.
To climb successfully, the American Lung Association strongly urges all participants to train before embarking on the ascent.
To help you prepare, we’ve assembled a Fitness Training Guide with tips, exercises, and a complete training schedule to help you do your best.
As always, be sure to consult your physician before beginning any new fitness routine.
Local Training Session/Practice Climb Info
Thank you for your interest in our upcoming training climbs. Winter trainings are hosted by Certified Personal and Group Trainer and Vertical Mile Veteran, Marcia Yager.
They will take place at 9:30am at UC’s Crosley Tower. The Crosley Tower is located on Martin Luther King Drive between Ludlow and Woodside Gateway. There is plenty of street parking on MLK or see the UC Campus Map for nearby parking garages. We will meet in the lobby of the Crosley Tower.
Bring water, a towel and positive energy!
Registered climbers can RSVP here for the training climbs
RSVP deadline is the Friday before each training at 4:00pm. You must be a registered climber in order to participate.

Climber Boot Camp Classes

TriHealth will be hosting a FREE 4-session Climber Boot Camp to get you in tip top shape for this year’s Fight For Air Climb. TriHealth Personal Trainers will be on hand to teach climber basics including: stretching and hydrating. You will also have the opportunity to train on 17 floors at the Dixmyth Tower.
Climber Boot Camp is FREE and open to all registered Cincinnati Climbers. Attend one or all four! Climber Boot Camp classes will be held at Good Samaritan Hospital at 6:30pm. Good Samaritan Hospital is located at 375 Dixmyth Ave Cincinnati, OH 45220. We will meet in the Dixmyth Lobby and walk to the training site together.
