The Fight For Air Climb takes place on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Accenture Tower in downtown Minneapolis. Participants, individuals or teams, climb 660 stairs to fight lung disease. All climbers are timed using state-of-the-art chip timing technology to ensure accurate results, but you don't need to be a star athlete to participate.
The average climb time is under 15 minutes, and all ages and abilities are welcome. After you finish your climb, relax and enjoy breakfast and refreshments at the After Party Celebration. Climbing to the top is only the start; you are making a difference and fighting lung disease!

TWO UNIQUE CHALLENGES, ONE BREATHTAKING EVENT!
30 Floor Climb- Climb 30 floors to the top of the Accenture Tower. The Climb begins at 8:30 a.m.
Ultimate Climb- Climb 30 floors to the top of the Accenture Tower as many times as you are able to between 7-8:30 a.m. Climbs are intended to be consecutive. Elevator time will not be recorded in your time. Your fastest individual climb time will be eligible for awards and recognition in the 30 Floor Climb.
Firefighter Challenge- Teams of four or more firefighters will compete in their FULL GEAR excluding their ax. The Firefighter Challenge begins at 10 a.m.
Virtual Climber-New for the 2013 Climber we are offer the option to become a Virtual Climber. Can’t be at the Climb or unable to tackle the stairs, you can still participate by registering as a Virtual Climber and get your official Climber t-shirt.
Corporate Team Challenge- Teams or four or more will compete for the title of fastest corporate team. The top three Corporate Teams will be awarded. Fuel the fun and the competition in your work place by creating multiple teams!
Fire Department Competitive Challenge- Teams of four or more firefighters will compete in their FULL GEAR excluding their ax.
Family and Friends- Teams of four or more family/friend members compete. Fuel the fun, competition and healthy lifestyle while making great memories!
Registration and Fundraising
30 Floor Climb- Registration Fee: $15 Early Bird / $25 after January 11, 2013; Minimum Fundraising/Donation: $100
Ultimate Climb- Registration Fee: $30 Early Bird / $40 after January 11, 2013; Minimum Fundraising/Donation: $100
Firefighters- Registration Fee: $15 Early Bird / $25 after January 11, 2013; Minimum Fundraising/Donation: $100
Each Climber is responsible for his/her own individual Registration Fee and Fundraising Minimum
Fee and Donation Details
The Registration Fee is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable. Climbers have until event day to meet their Minimum Fundraising of $100. Climbers who have not met their fundraising requirement on event day will need to pay the outstanding amount in order to participate in the climb. Pledges made to the American Lung Association on behalf of climbers who cancel or do not participate in the Climb are non-refundable.
Collecting Pledges and Fundraising
Our online fundraising tools make fundraising quick and simple. You can personalize your webpage with a photo and text about what motivates you to join the "Fight for Air". Send emails to friends and family or link to your Facebook page asking for support and to receive online credit card pledges. Any offline donations (cash and checks) that are collected can be mailed to:

Event Day Information
Start Times: Participants will receive their start times prior to the event via email. Start times will also be posted online 48 hours prior to the event. Start times for the Ultimate Climb will begin at 7 a.m. and the doors will open at 6:30am. The 30 Floor Climb start times will begin at 8:30 a.m. Participants should arrive 30 minutes prior to their start time. Start times will be assigned in waves. Teams will be assigned the same wave: Climbers will climb individually on 10-15 second intervals in their wave time.
Timing Chips: Timing Chips will be picked up before climbing on event day. All participants will receive a technical tee, goody bag and bib number.
Gear Check: Gear Check will be available to all participants on the day of the event. Please leave any valuable items at home, as we cannot be responsible for any lost or stolen items at the event.
Water Stations: Water Stations will be located in the stairwells and also at the top. Water bottles are not allowed in the stairwells as it is a safety hazard.
Firefighter Boot Camp
Raise $300 or more and take part in Boot Camp OR raise $200 to take part in the Firefighter training climb February 2nd 2013.
Ticket to Climb
Raise more than $1,000 and be eligible to climb for FREE at any of the other Upper Midwest Region stairclimb events in 2013. No registration fee or additional fundraising required.

Individual Awards: Awards will be given to both the Male and Female Ultimate Climbers as well as Over-all-winners. Awards will be given to the top three finishers for men and women in each category. All participants will be divided into the following age groups: 12 and under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Team Awards: Groups of four or more can form a team and compete again other climb teams. You team may consist of men and/or women in any age category. The four fastest times on your team will be combined to determine the winners. Each team member's individual time will count toward the individual age categories. The three fastest teams in each category will be awarded.
Safety and Climber Etiquette
To ensure the safety of all climbers and allow for the best experience, please pass slower climbers on the wall without the rail, and let them know you are coming from behind to pass. You should always climb on the rail side of the stairwell. Emergency teams will be located at the bottom and top in case you need assistance. Volunteers will be available at the water stations to notify them if you need help.
