The FIRST TIME
you attempt to use your social networking account on this site, you will have to:
1. Log into your social networking site.
2. Give permission for the American Lung Association (ALA) to access your social networking profile.
3. Validate your social network profile by either LINKING it to a new or existing LungUSA.org online account.
Existing Accounts
If you already have a LungUSA.org website account or if you have ALREADY REGISTERED FOR THIS EVENT: During the social networking validation step, select the option labeled “Have an account already? Log in here”.
New Accounts
If you DON’T already have a LungUSA.org website account: During the social networking validation step, verify the information that was obtained from your social networking site and click “Register”.

4 Ways to Participate

Start a Team
Choose this if you would like to start your own team for your friends, family, or company. You will have the opportunity to set up your team, create a team page, and also have a personal fundraising page.
Join a Team
Choose this if you want to join a team that has already been set up by your team captain. You will be able to see how your fundraising supports your team and you will also be able to have a personal fundraising page. Even if you join a team, you are still required to raise the minimum fundraising amount for an individual.
Join as an Individual
Choose this if you are not starting or joining a team and would prefer to participate as an individual. You will be able to set up a personal fundraising page to share with your friends to support your fundraising efforts.
Volunteer
If you prefer not to participate but would rather volunteer for the event, click here. You will still be able to join a team and set up a personal fundraising page if you wish to raise money for the event.

3 Ways to Donate

Sponsor a Climber
Choose this if you would like to donate to a specific individual. Your donation will increase the fundraising total for the specific individual. If that individual is on a team, it will also increase the team's fundraising total. You will be able to search for a specific participant to which to donate.
Donate to a Team
Choose this if you would like donate to a team and not a specific participant. Your donation will increase the team fundraising total but not a specific individual on the team. You will be able to search for a specific team to which to donate.
Donate to the Event
Choose this if you would like to donate to the overall event and not to a team or individual. Your donation will increase the fundraising total on the event thermometer but will not support a specific team or individual participant. You will not be able to search for a specific team or individual participant to which to donate.

Map for Detroit Climb

From the North

• Take I-75 South to I-375 to Jefferson Avenue West (toward downtown) and merge to the center left lane. Turn left on to Beaubien Street.

From the South

• Take I-75 North to M-10/John C Lodge to Civic Center which turns into Jefferson Avenue. Go past the Renaissance Center and turn right at Beaubien Street.

From the West

• (From I-96E or I-94E) Take the Lodge (U.S. 10) south towards the Civic Center and this will become Jefferson Avenue; proceed east on Jefferson approximately 1/4 mile. Go past the Renaissance Center and turn right at Beaubien Street.

From the East

• (From I-94W to I-75S to I-375 to Jefferson) Take Jefferson Avenue west (toward downtown) and merge to the center left lane. Turn left on to Beaubien Street.

From Woodward Avenue

• Go to Jefferson Avenue, turn left of Jefferson. Go past the Renaissance Center and turn right at Beaubien Street.

Parking Instructions:

The official Climb 2012 parking structure is the Beaubien Place Parking Structure located on Beaubien next to the Renaissance Center. There are other parking lots and structures available. The cost to park varies by lot and structure. If you use the Beaubiean Place Parking Structure, you will want to take the walkway over to the Renaissance Center and proceed to the Wintergarden.
