Each year, too many lives are lost to lung disease and this is your chance to climb, raise money and make an impact in their honor. By joining the Fight for Air Climb, you are making the commitment to fight lung disease so everyone can breathe easier- including you!
Families, friends, individuals and companies join together in a climb to raise awareness for the 1 million Hoosiers affected by lung disease. Participants work together to fundraise.
Please join the thousands of individuals across the nation who believe in the cause and will climb in their communities as well.
You can get involved by:

- Joining an existing Team as a new registrant
- Signing up as an individual registrant
- Sponsoring the event
- Joining the event planning committee

Event Information
You may register at any time on the www.fightforairclimb.org website. The climb will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 beginning at 8:00am at the Indiana Square building downtown Indianapolis. Participants climb as individuals or on teams to the top of the 35 story building. That is 768 steps to the top! You can sign up to climb the building twice in our Extreme Challenge or three times in the Ultimate Challenge. All climbers recieve a timing chip to track your time. Awards are given to top climbers in various age/gender groups as well as overall finishers in the original Climb, Extreme Climb and Ultimate Climb.
Training Classes
Beginning February 9th, the American Lung Association and the National Institute for Fitness and Sports (NIFS) will join together to bring you a FREE six-session training program. That Thursday evening at 6pm will be the first of six classes dedicated to lower body conditioning and cardio workouts geared towards climbing stairs. All fitness levels are welcome as workouts will be tailored to various levels of ability.
You do NOT need to be a member of NIFS to participate. You just need to be registered for the Fight For Air Climb event.

(*From the third class on, training is only open to climbers that pledge to try and raise $200)

Once registered, you will recieve class reminders, parking directions and informationabout fun incentive prizes for class participants. Not sure you can pledge $200 yet? Attend the first and second classes without the committment...then decide!
Ticket to Climb
Raise more than $1,000 and be eligible to climb for FREE at any of the other Upper Midwest Region stairclimb events in 2012. No registration fee or additional fundraising required.

Parking
Parking is available at attached garage at Indiana Square. You can enter this garage off of Ohio Street, the southern street flanking the building.
Fundraising
Each climber is required to fund raise at least $100 toward the cause in order to participate on event day. This is easier than you think! It is as easy as asking 10 friends for $10. Coaching packets and trainings are available. Please contact our office for more details (800-LUNG-USA).
Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law. The American Lung Association ® is a registered 501 (c) 3 organization. Please make checks payable to the American Lung Association in Indiana.
A fundraising packet is available to help you reach your fundraising minimum. Check out the "Fundraising Help" page on the main menu. If you need additional help in meeting the fundraising minimum requirement, please contact our office at 800-LUNG-USA. The ALA staff is happy to help coach and provide fast and efficient ideas to reach your fundraising requirement.
