The FIRST TIME

3 Ways to Donate

Sponsor a Walker
Choose this if you would like to donate to a specific individual. Your donation will increase the fundraising total for the specific individual. If that individual is on a team, it will also increase the team's fundraising total. You will be able to search for a specific participant to which to donate.
Donate to a Team
Choose this if you would like donate to a team and not a specific participant. Your donation will increase the team fundraising total but not a specific individual on the team. You will be able to search for a specific team to which to donate.
Donate to the Event
Choose this if you would like to donate to the overall event and not to a team or individual. Your donation will increase the fundraising total on the event thermometer but will not support a specific team or individual participant. You will not be able to search for a specific team or individual participant to which to donate.

The Fight for Air Walk is a 1- or 3.1-mile walk at Principal Park (I-Cubs Ball Park) in Des Moines. Attracting people of all ages, the Fight for Air WALK gives you the power to improve the air we breathe. Participate as an individual or create a team of friends, family and co-workers. Walk the entire course or just some of it, it is up to you. However you choose to participate, you can be proud you’ve chosen to Fight for Air!

Walk Routes
Route 1: A 1-mile walk on the Des Moines Trail System.
Route 2: A 3.1-mile walk from Principal Park to Grays Lake on the Des Moines Trail System.

Start and Finish Line- Principal Park - 1 Line Drive, Des Moines, IA 50309

All participants who individually raise at least $100 will receive a complimentary t-shirt.

Registration and Fundraising

Minimum Fundraising Requirement to Receive a T-Shirt: $100

Individual walkers have until event day to meet their $100 suggested minimum fundraising requirement. Walkers who have not met their suggested fundraising requirement on event day will not receive a t-shirt. Donations made to the American Lung Association on behalf of walkers who cancel or do not participate in are non-refundable. Online registration will end at midnight on Friday October 5, 2012. You may register on the day of the event. To register after the close of online registration, please contact the office at Events@LungIA.org or 515-309-9507.

Our online fundraising tools make fundraising quick and simple. For fundraising assistance, please contact the office at Events@LungIA.org or 515-309-9507. We can help you personalize your webpage, draft fundraising letters and create a fundraising plan designed for you!

Credit card donations can be made directly to your fundraising website. Any offline donations (cash and checks) that are collected can be mailed to:
