Each year, too many people lose their lives to lung disease and this is your chance to run, walk, raise money and make an impact in their honor. By joining the Fight for Air Run/Walk you are making the commitment to fight lung disease so everyone can breathe easier - including you!
Event Overview
Families, individuals and teams join in a 5K run/walk to raise awareness and funds for the 35 million Americans who suffer from asthma and other lung diseases. Participants work together to raise money to support the American Lung Association's mission, to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.
Please join the thousands of individuals across the nation who believe in the cause and will participate in their communities as well.

Event Information
You may register at any time on the www.fightforairrunwalk.org website. The event will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Nocatee Greenway Trails in Ponte Vedra, FL. Registration will open at 9:00 AM. For the 5K, runners will start at 10:00 AM and walkers will begin at 10:15 AM.
The course is a certified 5K that will take you through Nocatee's beautiful wetland preserves and protected wildlife corridors. The finish line will be located in the Nocatee Farmers Market, where participants will enjoy music, delicious food and unique vendors. Participants will be professionally timed and ranked by 1st Place Sports.
All registered participants will receive a complimentary event t-shirt. Please note that you must be registered by October 29, 2010 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
Timing
On the morning of the event, runners ONLY will be provided with a timing chip that attaches to the ankle or shoe using a Velcro band. All runners need to pick up their chip at the timing table prior to the start of the race. Failure to wear the chip during the event will prevent the participant from being timed and ranked. At the finish line, all timing chips MUST be returned. Participants will be billed $30 for any unreturned chip and Velcro band.

Medals will be given to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups:
13-19
20-24
25-29
30-34
35-39
40-44
45-49
50-54
55-59
65-69
**All children will receive a medal.
There will be a post-event celebration shortly after the last participant finishes the race. This is when we will present the top finishers with their medals. Please plan to stick around for kid's activities, the Nocatee Farmers Market and delicious food donated by the Ale House!
Race Packet Pick-up
Race packets and bibs will be available for pickup from 10 AM to 6 PM Thursday, November 18th and Friday, November 19th at the following 1st Place Sports location:

All race packets that are not picked up at the above location will be moved to the race site on event day. T-shirts will also be available for pick up at this location.
Please note that all donations MUST be turned into the ALA office (6852 Belfort Oaks Place, Jax, FL 32216). The 1st Place Sports staff will not be able to collect any money.
***Participants who register after November 10th are NOT guaranteed a race packet and t-shirt.***

Parking
Self-parking will be available in the lot next to the Nocatee Splash Water Park. Signage and parking volunteers will be provided on the event day.
Fundraising
We encourage you to fundraise at least $100 toward the cause. This is easier than you think! It is as easy as asking 10 friends for $10. Coaching packets and trainings are available. Please contact our office for more details 904-520-7123.
