raise money and make an impact in their honor.
By joining the Fight For Air Run/Walk you are making the commitment to
fight lung disease so everyone can breathe easier- including you!
Event Overview
Families, individuals and teams join together in a run/walk to raiseawareness for the 35 million
Americans who suffer from asthma. Participants work together to fundraise.
Please join the thousands of individuals across the nation
who believe in the cause and will run/walk in their communities as well.
You can get involved by:
- Registering as a Team Captain
- Joining an existing Team as a new registrant
- Signing up as an individual registrant
- Sponsoring the event
- Joining the event planning committee
- Making a contribution supporting a registrant

Fight for Air Run Walk –Rock out to the Decades!
Peace! Groovy! Like OMG!
Join the American Lung Association as their Fight for Air Run Walk goes Retro! The Fight For Air Run/Walk is a 5K event benefiting the American Lung Association. This event will be held at the Metropolitan Park. Be ready to rock out and run/walk to the retro music from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Show your love of your favorite decade by dressing up to run back in time. You are not required to dress in costume. Prizes will be given to best dressed!If you were a hippy in the 60s wear your tie dyed shirt! If you are a 70s dancing queen you can shine in sequins. If you loved the 80s wear your neon and rat your hair. (Dressing up is not required)
KID'S CORNER!
Kids can enjoy fun activities, arts and crafts, Tu Tu The Clown and face painting!
The Kid’s Corner is sponsored by “LittleBits Children’s Resale”.
Adult Registration Prices for 5K and Fun Run:
Until June 22nd - $20.00
June 23rd until August 17st - $30.00
EVENT DAY Walk Ups -August 18th - $40.00
All Adult runner/walkers will receive a Tech shirt!
Children Registration Prices for 5K and Fun Run:
Children age 5-12 are $20.00 at all times.
(They will receive a t-shirt with registration fee.)
Children ages 4 and under are FREE , but will not receive a t-shirt.
AWARDS
Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age groups:
Children 12 and under, 13-19,20-24,25-29,30-34,35-39,40-44,45-49,50-54,55-59,60-64,65-69,and 70 and over.
Awards will be given to best dressed for each decade (60s, 70s, and 80s)!
The Award Ceremony will begin after completion of the One Mile Fun Run at the Pavilion located inside Metropolitan Park.
Run Walk Course

Directions to Metropolitan Park
1410 Gator Bowl Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32202
From the North:
Take I-95 South, take the Union Street Exit. Follow Union Street through downtown.
Follow the signs for Arlington Expressway/Jax Beaches/Sports Complex.
Exit at Haines Street/Sports Complex. Stay right in the fork in the ramp.
Follow the curve around EverBank Field. Metropolitan Park is just past WJCT on the left.
From the South:
Take I-95 north, take the Main Street Exit, cross the Main Street Bridge over the St. Johns River.
Take the Newnan Street exit off of the bridge. At the stop sign, turn left.
Turn right onto Bay Street and follow it East.
Metropolitan Park is directly across the street from EverBank Field, on the St. Johns River
From the Beaches:
Take the Mathews Bridge across the St. Johns River.
Take the exit for the Sports Complex.
Follow the curve around EverBank Field. Metropolitan Park is just past WJCT on the left.
Parking
Parking is available at Metropolitan Park.
Overflow Parking: Signage and directions for overflow parking will be provided day of event
Fundraising
We encourage you to fund raise at least $100 toward the cause. This is easier than you think!
It is as easy as asking 10 friends for $10. Coaching packets and trainings are available.
