5th Annual Fight For Air Climb, Los Angeles

Be sure to bring a credit card to take care of your $30 on-site registration and your pledge commitment to raise $100. Each year, too many lives are lost to lung disease and this is your chance to climb, raise money and make an impact in their honor. By joining the Fight For Air Climb, you are making the commitment to fight lung disease so everyone can breathe easier - including you!
Event Overview
Families, individuals and teams join together in a climb to raise awareness for the 37 million Americans who suffer from lung disease. Participants come together to raise awareness and funds to support the mission of the American Lung Association.
Join the thousands of individuals across the nation who believe in the cause and will climb in their communities as well.
You can get involved by:
- Registering as a Team Captain
- Joining an existing Team as a new registrant
- Signing up as an individual registrant
- Sponsoring the event
- Joining the event planning committee
- Making a contribution supporting a registrant
- Donating your goods and/or services
- Sharing on Facebook or Twitter
Registration Information
You may register at any time leading up to the Climb by choosing the appropriate option under "Sign Up".
Options include: Start a Team, Join a Team, Join as Individual or Volunteer.
Registration fee: $15 until 12/15/11 (enter code CLIMB2012) and $25 starting 12/16/11
Please note that registration fees and donations made to you are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Fundraising Information
Fundraising Minimum: Each participant is required to raise $100 (in addition to the registration fee) by the day of the Climb. If the minimum is not met, the participant will be asked to make up the balance, either via credit card, check or cash. You will not be allowed to climb unless you have raised/paid the full $100 minimum.
Incentive Prizes: All participants who individually raise at least $100 will receive a complimentary t-shirt. For those who raise $150+, other incentive prizes apply. Click here to find out more.
Fundraising Tips: Whether you are participating as part of a corporate team, a friends and family team, or as an individual these quick tips are sure to help you maximize your fundraising efforts! Training Information
Fundraising Competitions
We have several competitions this year to incentivize your hard work in fundraising and recruiting others to join you. The American Lung Association in California will contact you directly if you are the winner of any competition. Good luck!
Run Date: March 6 - March 10
Competition: The team leader who recruits the most members within the specified time will win a Fight For Air Climb embroidered foldable sports chair. Perfect for picnics, tailgates, and camping!
Run Date: March 12 - March 16
Competition: The climber who raises the most money from March 12 - March 16 wins a pair of shoes, compliments of Fleet Feet Sports Encino!
Run Date: Now - March 17
Competition: Any individual who raises $500 by March 17 will be entered in a drawing to win a fixed gear bike from Pure Fix Cycles. Pure Fix Cycles is our celebration of bicycling for all that it offers: transportation, health, and righteous good times. With our economy cooled and our planet warming, there is no better way to get around than riding, cost and carbon free, on a fixed gear bike.

TOP FUNDRAISER
The individual who, by March 31, raises the most money, will win a helicopter ride during a live broadcast of the CBS2 morning news.
TOP FUNDRAISING TEAM
The team that, by March 31, raises the most money will win a dinner party hosted by Maria's Italian Kitchen in downtown Los Angeles. The top fundraising team will enjoy a complimentary dinner buffet from Maria's Italian Kitchen's delicious menu and Fight For Air "mocktails" made just for yuor team!
FASTEST CLIMBERS
Medals given to male and female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers (by time) in each of the following categories:
- Overall fastest time
- 12 & under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
- Firefighters climbing in full gear
- Police officers
Awards given for the following categories:
- Fastest Firefighter team (top 4 times averaged)
- Fastest Police team
Trophies given to the winners of the following categories:
- Top fundraising team
- Top fundraiser
- Fastest Male
- Fastest Female
Awards ceremony will take place at the end of the event at the main stage around 12:00 p.m.

From the 110 South:
1. Take the 4th St. exit toward 6th St./3rd. St./Wilshire Blvd.
2. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for the CA-110
3. Continue on Front Street
4. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for 6th St. and merge onto S. Beaudry Ave.
5. Turn left on Wilshire Blvd.; destination will be on the left
From the 110 North:

Mass Transit: 
We encourage you to use public transportation. Metro provides Metro Bus and Metro Rail transportation to the Fight For Air Climb via Metro Bus and Metro Rail.
Take either the Red Line or thePurple Line to 7th Street/Metro Center Station. Head Southeast on 7th Street toward Hope Street. Make a left onto Hope Street. The festival area will be ahead past Wilshire Blvd.

Parking Information
Parking is available for $5 at 637 Wilshire Blvd. Entrance to the garage is between Hope Street and S. Grand Ave. Payment method is cash only. Exact amount preferred.
