The American Lung Association offers many opportunities for healthcare professionals and volunteers to become eligible to lead programs in your community.

  • Freedom From Smoking Facilitator
    Freedom From Smoking® facilitators are responsible for conducting the clinic. They introduce the techniques to the participants, coordinate the activities and facilitate group interaction.
  • Better Breathers Club Certified Facilitator
    BBC facilitators are trained to lead BBC meetings and provide support to those facing chronic lung disease.
  • Open Airways For Schools Certified Facilitators
    An Open Airways For Schools Certified Facilitator is trained to help children better understand how to manage their asthma.
  • Asthma Educator Institute
    Take this two-day professional development course to provide asthma guidelines-based care to patients and their families and get the knowledge you need to sit for the National Asthma Educator Certification Board exam. 
  • Breathe Well, Live Well
    Help adults better manage their asthma by using Breathe Well, Live Well: The Guide to Managing Asthma at Home and Work as a tool to educate patients.
