Getting Support

Parents whose child has died of SIDS need much support. In addition to their grief, they may be suffering from feelings of guilt. During this traumatic time, they also must manage to deal with police investigators and others who are required by law to determine a cause of death.  Parents, siblings and other close family may benefit from family counseling and support groups as they deal with the loss of a baby. The American Lung Association offers several resources to help parents and family members find emotional support.
