The Upper Midwest Region thanks you for flexing your muscle to help us achieve our mission: saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.
Your passion, time and donations helped us invest more than $3 million for the third consecutive year. This money goes directly to research that develops new treatments and cures for lung disease.
Through the generosity of our partners, our work on childhood asthma in communities across the region significantly reduced asthma-related emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and school absences. With kids receiving less medical care, they are in school more to learn, parents are able to go to work and healthcare spending is drastically decreased.
We also thank the 14,000 Lung Association event participants across the Upper Midwest who raised more than $5 million to help us save lives through research, education and advocacy.
In short, we have many reasons to be proud, but we didn't do it alone, and we still have more work to do. We will not rest until the world is free of lung disease and we'll reach our mark, one breath at a time.
