Dear American Lung Association Friends and Family,
This year was another monumental one in our mission to end lung disease and help everyone breathe better.
In FY 2017, the American Lung Association of the Southwest hosted six Fight For Air Climbs, six LUNG FORCE Walks and a handful of other events that unite people together in fighting for healthy lungs and clean air. We also worked tirelessly with local law makers in passing bills that protect our indoor and outdoor air and offer more resources to those living with lung disease. In communities, we offered health education programing for those living with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and individuals looking to quit smoking.
One of the biggest markers of FY 2017 was the preparation for the Southwest Region, along with the seven other charters and the national office, to merge as one organization. Now, as one American Lung Association, there is more possibility than ever to moving closer to a world free of lung disease.
Thank you for your contributions to the Southwest Region and we look forward to the year ahead.
Sincerely,
Larry Blumenthal
